Tree Planting at Palmetto Island State Park

Recently Dr. Pam Blanchard, Director of LSU Coastal Roots Programs teamed up with Franklin High School Students to plant Cypress Trees at the Park. Our Interpretive Ranger Alyson Bordelon guided the students in the woods to plant the trees.  Approximately 500 trees were planted in the woods.  These trees were tagged and the group will be monitoring the growth of the trees.
